Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 workers may select and appoint from among their fellow employees, a safety representative. The role includes the undertaking of tasks such as workplace inspections, accident investigations, investigation of complaints and consultation on workplace health and safety matters.
Training is required for safety representatives and employers must ensure it is comprehensive and allows them to fulfil their role in the workplace.
This course trains representatives to apply sound principles to safety and health issues as part of a total strategy to reduce hazards and risks in the workplace.
||Those attending this programme must meet RPL criteria. Your entry to this course is not guaranteed until The CILT training team can confirm your RPL eligibility. RPL is an application made on behalf of participants by a training provider to facilitate the delivery of training with an emphasis on particular elements of a programme where learners due to previously attained knowledge, skills or life experience have full knowledge of these outcomes and so may concentrate on the delivery of other outcomes.
