The Institute acts as the Examining body on behalf of the Department of Transport and the Health & Safety Authority for certain transport activities.

This appointment covers the Certificate of Professional Competence in both Road & Bus Passenger Transport Operations Management (CPC) on behalf of the Department of Transport. 

In addition the Institute is the examination agent for the Health & Safety Authority for training certificates for drivers of vehicles carrying Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) (Pursuant to Council Directives 94/55/EC) and the Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser examinations.
