| Eastern Section's Visit To Weston Airport |
|
A group of 10 members recently visited Weston Airport in Leixlip Co. Kildare. Weston Airport is the only executive airport in Dublin, situated just 8 miles (13km) from the city. The Airport opened in 1931 and specialises in delivering the travel needs of the executive traveler to Dublin. Weston also is host to some of Irelands top flighing schools. CILT members were giving a presentation by Mr. Paul Mullins (Airport's Administrative Authority) about the formation of the Airport, its current status in the Irish Aviation Industry, its future development plans and the wider aviation industry. There was a 45 minute question and answer session with Mr. Mullins where members were giving the opportunity to ask some very detailed questions about Weston Airport. The visit to Weston finished off with a guided tour of the airport hangars and its aircraft. This event was organised by the Eastern Section of The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Ireland. The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Ireland would like to thank Mr. Kevin Hogan FCILT, Mr. Paul Mullins and all the staff at Weston for accommodating CILT members with such a interesting presentation and tour of the airport.
