CILT Annual Dinner

15 September 2022

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport celebrated 70 years of the Institute in Ireland this November. The Irish branch of the Institute was first established on 11th December 1952 at Jury's Hotel on Parnell Street, read more about our history here

Our 70th Annual Gala Dinner was held on Thursday 24th November 2022 at The Morrison Hotel, Dublin 2. The evening began with a drinks reception allowing strangers to become friends, industry connections to be made (without the use of LinkedIn!) providing a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere before the night's festivities took place.

CEO Joe Kenny was our very capable MC for the night. To the left, pictured with Minister Hildegarde Naughton, Joe Kenny and CILT President Brendan Keating.

Pictured above receiving their awards are to the left: Cindy Anne De Lange first runner up for her project on HGV Driver Shortages, pictured to the right is the winner of the overall award Richard Woods for his work into the use of air cargo during the pandemic. Pictured also, are President Brendan Keating and representatives from ISM, Mike Fitzpatrick and Lee Hazzard. Thank you to ISM, for sponsoring the award.

Guests were regaled by after dinner speaker Ivan Yates. Ivan is no stranger to public speaking given his varied career across radio and tv broadcasting, as an author, businessman and former politician.

Thanks to all who purchased raffle tickets for our charity prize raffle draw we raised €2,000 for St Vincent De Paul and the Irish Red Cross. Pictured above are some of our winners, Professor Paul Coughlan from Trinity College Dublin with an artisan Irish food hamper from Universal Media, Professor Donna Marshall from University College Dublin with a trip to Britain from Irish Ferries, Xavier Hubert with dinner for two and a bottle of wine from Castleknock Hotel and Sinead Kavanagh with a hamper donated from Keith Barry!

We thank you to all who attended from individual valued members of the Institute to industry representatives from Irish Rail, Bus Eireann, DFDS, ISM, PerformanSC, Dublin Bus, FREE NOW and beyond.
