From 1 July 2026, the EU's long-standing €150 de minimis customs duty exemption for low-value consignments (small parcels) will be abolished. In its place: a temporary fixed €3 customs duty per item category and additional parcel handling charges to come. This will have significant financial and operational impact on the 5.8 billion low value parcels imported yearly into the EU.
- The details of the interim €3 duty rule and how it's applied and similar changes in US and UK
- Upcoming additional handling fees (expected later in 2026) and their impact on landed costs
- Broader EU customs reforms on the horizon (including the EUDR, AEO reform, Forced Labour Regulation)
