Women in Logistics and Transport Ireland (WiLaT)

Women in Logistics and Transport Ireland was first launched in 2013 however we are now glad to announce a successful re-launch of the group taking place yesterday on Thursday 18th July.

The introductory meeting was held via Zoom and open to all members of the Institute to attend. Female members of CILT are automatically members of WiLAT International. Male members of the Institute or anyone interested in the group but not a current CILT member can become a Friend of WiLAT.

WiLAT exists to:

  • Promote the status of women in the logistics, transport and supply chain industry.
  • Bring together those who support the talent and career development of women.
  • Provide a support network and mentoring opportunities for women working in the industry.

CILT Ireland was delighted to see so many join the introductory meeting and pleased to note the attendance also of WiLaT Global Chairperson Vicky Koo, Berna Akyildiz, President of CILT Turkey and Dorothy Chan, WiLaT's global advisor. This further emphasising the support across the globe of women in logistics and transport internationally.

Rabia Mirza was formally announced as the Chairperson of WiLaT in Ireland with Mary Cadogan, Southern Chair of CILT and Fiona Doody also involved in progressing WiLaT's re-launch.

We look forward to championing the four pillars of leadership, mentorship, entrepreneurship and empowerment. If you are interested in learning more about WiLaT Ireland and getting involved please email us at communications@cilt.ie
