CILT CBAM Webinar

We are hosting an online information webinar on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on the 12th February from 12 noon-1 pm delivered via Teams Webinar.

The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) – is a game-changer in the world of sustainable trade. CBAM is Europe's bold step towards a greener future, ensuring that imported goods meet the same environmental standards as those produced within the European Union. By levying a carbon price on certain imports, CBAM promotes fair competition while reducing carbon emissions, making it a win-win for businesses and the planet.

This information webinar on CBAM will discuss:

· Background to CBAM in the EU

· Products in scope

· How will CBAM work

· Timelines and next steps for Irish importers

Join us in embracing CBAM and take your commitment to environmental responsibility to the next level.

The webinar will include speakers from Revenue, Kenneth Gory and Declan O'Dalaigh.

Kenneth Gory is an Administrative Officer in the Import & Export Procedures Unit. The Unit provides support on customs policy and procedures, monitors and contributes to changes to the UCC, takes responsibility for guidance material for import / export and responding to complex queries. The Unit has also been tasked with managing the implementation of CBAM as Revenue will be the National Customs Authority under the CBAM Regulation.
